What is Red Bull Thre3Style ?
Red Bull Thre3style is a DJ contest that promises to be a night of dance-floor mayhem. Each DJ gets a 15 minute shift where they can play whatever they like, as long as they have at least three styles or genres of music in that time. It doesn’t matter what genres of music are chosen so long as the DJ can make them work together.
Red Bull Thre3Style World Finals 2014
Now in ist fifth year, more than 24 countries around the world were competing against each other and sending their national Red Bull Thre3Style champion to the world finals.
Baku, Azerbaijan known as one of the urban hot spots for nightlife and for long hours of sunshine and healthy climate was chosen to host the Red Bull Thre3Style World Finals 2014.
After a week of battles across the clubs and hot-spots of Baku, all eyes were locked on the Press Center (Crystal Hall) for the last night and grand final, where the final six DJs came out to prove why they needed the title.
A judging panel featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff, Z-Trip, Krafty Kuts, Shortkut and Skratch Bastid decided finally that it’s Germany’s Eskei83 who has the best chops on the decks at the 2014 Red Bull Thre3style World Finals.
Global Sunshine Production was assigned by Red Bull together with their local partner A+A events to deliver the full production for the world`s biggest DJ competition.
To cover the diverse needs for all different venues, the layout of the show was divided into two diferent levels, an overall system with 3 LED Screens behind the DJs for virtual bannering that was common for all events and then added to that specials, that would be particular to the unique needs of every event location. Further challenge was to combine and fullfill the requirements of a TV show ( as this event was broadcasted and livestreamed) with the task of providing a unique and outstanding live-atmosphere for the audience.
Due to the tight time.schedules for set-up, the whole show was pre-programmed on a GrandMA2 Full-size at the showroom of A+A events.
More than 300 automated fixtures (Clay Paky / PR Lighting) were used together with 3 different sound systems from L`acoustic (KARA / KUDO / DVDOSC) Layher staging and grand stands and LED Lighthouse (Pi 10 SMD) Screens.
