Dubai World Cup 2016 Reception

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended, in presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai a reception hosted on the evening before the actual World Cup by Meydan, to mark the 21st Dubai World Cup, which was hold on Saturday at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse.

The reception was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Meydan, and world’s leading owners.

Sheikh Mohammed and the guests watched a film about Dubai’s success story, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Avantgarde Dubai was chosen by Meydan as the creative and leading agency for the spectecular show in the water of the lagoon of District 1. Together with my collegue Tim Jacobs, we were put in charge for planning this technical challenging project, as well as leading the tender process for the suppliers on behalf of the procurrement of meydan.

During the event Sheikh Mohammed got engaged in talks with the owners of the horses fielded for the Dubai World Cup. He wished all contestants best of luck in this cultural gathering and expressed his hope, that the Emiratis message of peace will be carried to their home countries.
